The waste producer is obliged to apply the following technical specifications when packaging HFHW:

1. The waste will be packaged in cardboard boxes with an internal plastic lining of the HOSPITAL BOX type (whose largest dimension - solid diagonal of the box - should not be greater than 75 cm) and which will be packaged in an external plastic bag made of synthetic material, other than PVC, sealed with a special safety closure. The above Hospital Box type cardboard boxes must be certified for the transport of HFHW, in accordance with the ADR code in force for the transport of hazardous materials.

2. Inside the cardboard boxes, the hazardous waste will be packaged in a plastic bag, made of synthetic material, other than PVC, whose thickness and mechanical strength will guarantee the impermeability and tightness of the packaging. This inner bag will be sealed with a special safety closure.

In case the aforementioned bags have been punctured or the carton has become wet, for any reason, the waste must be repackaged so that the carton is dry upon delivery so that it can be handled safely. Otherwise, it will not be accepted and the waste producer will be responsible.

3. Liquid contaminants and sharp objects will be collected in plastic, except PVC, autoclaves and then packaged in the cartons.

4. The waste producer undertakes not to deliver, knowingly or unknowingly, even in small quantities, radioactive or purely toxic waste that is not categorized as HFHW, in accordance with Joint Ministerial Decree no. 146163/2012.
